This policy explains what information Cape Fort Homes ("we", "us") collects when you visit capeforthomes.com or ask us for an estimate, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information you give us
When you request an estimate or send us a message, we collect what you enter in the form:
- Your name, phone number and email address.
- Your ZIP code and service area.
- The service you are interested in, the project scope, your timeline and any project details or message you write.
- How and when you prefer to be contacted.
- Your agreement to be contacted, together with the exact wording you agreed to and the date and time.
We do not ask for your street address, payment details or any government ID through this website.
Information collected automatically
How you found us. When you arrive from another website, a search result or an ad, our site stores the referring site, the page you landed on and any campaign tags in the link (such as utm_source or an advertising click ID like gclid) in a first-party cookie named cfh_attr. The cookie lasts 90 days and is only read by our own website. If you submit a form, this information is saved with your request so we know which pages and ads bring us customers.
Spam protection. When a form is submitted we record your browser type (user agent) and a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address. We use these only to limit repeated or abusive submissions; the hash cannot be turned back into your IP address.
Website analytics. We use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors use the site: pages viewed, the type of device and browser, approximate location (city or region, not your exact address), how you arrived, and actions such as tapping our phone number, starting or submitting a form, and how quickly pages load. Google sets its own cookies to do this. Google Analytics does not receive your name, phone number, email address or message; when you submit a form it only records which form it was, the service you chose and your service area. Advertising. If we advertise with Google Ads, the ad click ID saved with your request may be shared with Google Ads so we can measure which ads led to inquiries and jobs. We do not send your name, phone number or email address to Google for this.
How we use your information
- To respond to your request, prepare an estimate and schedule a visit.
- To contact you by phone, text message or email about your request, as you agreed when you submitted the form.
- To keep a record of our communication and the work we do for you.
- To understand which pages, searches and ads bring us inquiries, so we can improve the website and our advertising.
- To protect the website from spam and abuse.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the information from our forms to send you unrelated marketing.
Text messages
If you agree to be contacted by text message, we will only text you about your request or project. Message and data rates may apply. You can stop texts at any time by replying STOP or simply telling us. We do not share your mobile number or your consent to receive texts with third parties for their marketing.
Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the business and the website, and only as needed for that purpose:
- Our website host, which stores the website and the requests you submit.
- Our email provider, which delivers the notification we receive and the confirmation you receive.
- Google, for website analytics and, if we advertise, ad measurement as described above.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or safety, or as part of selling or transferring the business.
How long we keep information
We keep estimate requests and messages for as long as we need them to respond to you, to carry out and support any work we do for you, and to meet our legal, tax and warranty obligations. You can ask us to delete your information sooner, as described below.
Your choices
- Ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by contacting us below.
- Tell us at any time that you no longer want us to contact you; for texts, reply STOP.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The website still works without them; we just will not know how you found us.
- Opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Security
The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and access to the requests you submit is limited to the people at Cape Fort Homes who need it to serve you. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children
This website is meant for adults planning work on their homes. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the effective date at the top.
